2016/16 Player Ratings: Manchester United 2-0 Chelsea – Awesome Ander Herrera

David de Gea – Quite literally had nothing to do. The Spaniard was as much a spectator as everyone else who was in Old Trafford. 6/10

Antonio Valencia – Awesome, as per usual. He was brilliant on the defensive side of the ball and bombed forward to help out Rashford. 7/10

Eric Bailly – His pace is frightening. It allows him to play tight up against his man and really put the pressure on. 6/10

Marcos Rojo – Pocketed Diego Costa. Rojo didn’t give Chelsea’s hitman a sniff throughout, and he completely locked him down with a wonderful defensive display. 8/10

Matteo Darmian – Our Italian was amazing. Pedro didn’t get a sniff down his side of the field and he deserves just as much praise as everyone else. 8/10

Marouane Fellaini – Can anyone see N’Golo Kante? Probably in Pogba’s pocket somewhere. Arguably his best game in a United jersey as he won pretty much every header and 50/50, and also picked the right pass. Absolutely sensational. 9/10

Ander Herrera – The best player on the pitch. Nullified Eden Hazard as he marked him out of the game completely, and when in possession he used it brilliantly. He created Rashford’s opener with a sublime ball and then added a second thanks to a deflection. Stunning. 10/10

Paul Pogba – Had a good first half as he began to pull the strings, but you get the feeling he was trying too hard in the second 45 as some passes went wayward. 6/10

Ashley Young – He captained the side and led by example. Did his defensive duties diligently and he really was a threat going forward. Mourinho would have been delighted. 7/10

Jesse Lingard – As per usual, he made the right runs and stretched that Chelsea back line. Alongside Rashford, he was brilliant. 6/10

Marcus Rashford – What a bright future this boy has. He terrorised Cahill and Luiz for 90 minutes and got us off to the best possible start with his goal. 8/10

Subs:

Michael Carrick – Came on and added some more calmness to the middle of the field.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic – Not enough time to mark.

Timothy Fosu-Mensah – Not enough time to mark.
