David de Gea – Couldn’t do anything to stop the penalty, made a smart save to deny Firmino. 6/10
Antonio Valencia – What a player he has become. He always offers himself as an outlet down the right, and today was no different. 7/10
Phil Jones – Put his head on absolutely everything, and didn’t mind risking his body for the cause. Played very well after a shaky start. 7/10
Marcos Rojo – Didn’t look fully fit, but wasn’t really troubled all that much by the Liverpool front line. 6/10
Matteo Darmian – Credit to Darmian, because I thought he did pretty good. Perhaps the only area which he lacks in is bombing forward and offering himself as an outlet down the left. 6/10
Michael Carrick – Subbed off at half-time as United were chasing the game. He looked tired if I’m being honest, and his passing wasn’t it’s usual high standard. 5/10
Ander Herrera – Made United tick. Pressed Liverpool single-handedly, looked lively, got his teammates involved and took a yellow card for the team late on as the scousers were breaking. Top job. 8/10 Man of the Match.
Paul Pogba – Unfortunately, it was one of the worst performances I’ve seen from a United player recently. He gave away a penalty, lost his head and his all-round game was just shocking. Real shame. 2/10
Henrikh Mkhitaryan – His movement gives United another option, and although his final ball was lacking at times, you have to say he played pretty well. 6/10
Anthony Martial – Started quite lively, but as the game wore on he faded out of proceedings. Rightly subbed. 4/10
Zlatan Ibrahimovic – Scored United’s leveller late on despite not leading the line all too well this afternoon. He’s just a finishing machine. 6/10
Subs:
Wayne Rooney – He just wasn’t good. His touches were heavy, passing wayward and didn’t drive the team forward.
Juan Mata – Did well for the most part. His movement was nice, and he linked up with Herrera wonderfully.
Marouane Fellaini – Surprisingly, he dragged United back into the game due to his physicality.
