2016/17 Player Ratings: West Ham United 0-2 Manchester United – Rashford stars

David de Gea – Made a couple of absolutely huge saves at 0-0 to keep his side in it. The best goalkeeper in the country by far. 7/10

Antonio Valencia – Bombed up and down that right-hand flank all afternoon. Played well. 6/10

Phil Jones – In the middle of controversy when he was absolutely clattered by Feghouli who was sent off. Did well defensively, though. 6/10

Marcos Rojo – The Argentine was rested for the ‘Boro game, and looked full of life this afternoon. 6/10

Matteo Darmian – Came in at left-back, but subbed at half-time as Jose Mourinho wanted to bring another attacker on. 5/10

Michael Carrick – Protected the back four nicely. Got United moving in the right direction again. 6/10

Ander Herrera – Looked absolutely exhausted but left everything out on the field. 5/10

Paul Pogba – You felt like it was straightforward for the Frenchman today. Cool as you like. 6/10

Henrikh Mkhitaryan – Had a pretty quiet one. Perhaps this game came too quickly after the Middlesbrough match for him. 5/10

Jesse Lingard – Should’ve scored in the first half, and really struggled to impose himself on the game. 4/10

Zlatan Ibrahimovic – Got his goal, albeit he was offside. Aside from that had a fairly quiet afternoon. 6/10

Subs:

Juan Mata – Made the breakthrough after a superb run from Marcus Rashford.

Marcus Rashford – The star of the show. His lightning pace, intelligence on the ball and directness won us the match. The best player on the pitch by far.

Chris Smalling – Came on to sure things up and kept Andy Carroll quiet.
