4-2-3-1: How Man United could line up without the injured Paul Pogba for the next few weeks

Manchester United’s opening Champions League fixture against FC Basel simply couldn’t have gone any better. Jose Mourinho’s team picked up all three points in convincing fashion, but the match was bittersweet due to an injury sustained by Paul Pogba.

With reports suggesting that the world-class 24-year-old will be out of action for a few weeks, we’ve drawn up the likely starting line-up for the Red Devils over the next four or five fixtures without our talisman.

Check out the XI without Paul Pogba here:

There will be a whole different approach to matches without Pogba. He is capable of producing something out of the ordinary, and without him, things will be a whole lot tougher. With that, there will be more onus on the likes of Juan Mata and Henrikh Mkhitaryan to create chances.

Ander Herrera will bring more work rate to the table, but he’s just not as technically gifted as his French counterpart. They both have different qualities, but I fully expect Mourinho to stick with a system that has worked so well to start off this season.

Don’t forget that the gaffer can also call upon Marouane Fellaini who was outstanding against FC Basel, as well as Michael Carrick, who has been there, done it and won it all.
