Manchester United’s top four hopes are still hanging on by the proverbial thread, with Mourinho desperate to secure Champions League football for next season. Our next game sees league leaders, and Jose’s former employers Chelsea visiting Old Trafford next.
This is a fixture that the Red Devils simply have to win to hold any hope of Champions League qualification via league position, and the game will obviously be tough.
Let’s take a look at the likely starting line-up then, and David de Gea should come back into the side for this one. He’ll have the now customary back two of Eric Bailly and Marcos Rojo in behind him. Luke Shaw had a rest in midweek and I’d love to see him start here. Antonio Valencia makes up the back four.
Another couple of players who were given a rest in midweek were Ander Herrera and Marouane Fellaini. These two will be feeling very fresh for this one so that can only help us. Paul Pogba starts too, in a more offensive role.
The goalscorer against Anderlecht was Henrikh Mkhitaryan and he simply has to continue, with Anthony Martial coming into the team as the left-sided winger. Zlatan Ibrahimovic completes the line-up.
