Manchester United suffered an uncharacteristic blip at the back during Stoke City last weekend, which resulted in the first dropped points of the season for the Red Devils. Things don’t get any easier for Jose Mourinho’s men, with Everton heading to Old Trafford.
This game on Sunday should be an intriguing one for several reasons, and ahead of the match, we’ve tried to work out what starting line-up Mourinho will go with. Trust me, it hasn’t been easy with Paul Pogba’s injury…
Check out the predicted Man United XI vs Everton here:
In goal, David de Gea will obviously continue, and despite making a mistake apiece last weekend, both Phil Jones and Eric Bailly will return to the starting line-up. Antonio Valencia got a well-earned rest in midweek so he’ll start, and Ashley Young has played his way into the team.
The midfield will be a two-man once again, with Nemanja Matic playing as the enforcer. I see Ander Herrera making a start, and although he is a completely different player to Pogba, I’m convinced he’ll have a positive impact.
Then comes my favourite part of the team; the front four. Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial have both been electric to start the season, so why not see how they get on when playing together? When you throw Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Romelu Lukaku into the mix, it’s a front four that has so much potential.
