4-2-3-1: Predicted Manchester United starting XI vs Stoke City – Valencia returns

Manchester United take on Stoke City tomorrow, with the perfect opportunity to gain three points on rivals Manchester City following their loss away at Liverpool.

Jose Mourinho’s Red Devils will be feeling fresh, following a few days out in Dubai to undergo some warm weather training.

With the manager-less Potters’ visit to Old Trafford looming, we’ve tried to work out what starting line-up Mourinho will go with.

Check out the predicted starting line-up here:

Obviously, David de Gea will start in goal. He’ll have the English centre-back pairing of Chris Smalling and Phil Jones in front of him. On the right-hand side, Antonio Valencia will return following a hamstring injury, with Luke Shaw playing as the left-back.

Nemanja Matic has become the midfield enforcer that United have craved for, and with the creativity of Paul Pogba alongside him, it makes for the perfect blend of attacking talent and brute force.

Romelu Lukaku will start as the main striker, with the in-form Jesse Lingard sitting just behind him. Anthony Martial will play as the left-winger, with Juan Mata making up the starting XI.

This is a team that should have enough to beat Stoke, but the lads will have to go out there and prove that they have what it takes to grab all three points.
