4-2-3-1: Predicted Manchester United XI vs AC Milan – Gomes starts

The pre-season tour games are now coming thick and fast. Manchester United’s third game is by far their toughest so far; with the Red Devils taking on a talented AC Milan team.

Jose Mourinho’s men haven’t had the best of times to this point, but the Old Trafford club will be hoping to turn that around in this one. Nemanja Matic’s arrival to the tour is a nice boost, he should start as the Serbia looks to build up those all-important fitness levels. Check out the full predicted XI below…

Predicted Manchester United XI vs AC Milan:

In goal, Sergio Romero will play in David de Gea’s absence. The Argentine will have a relatively experienced back four in front of him. Matteo Darmian will play for the injured Antonio Valencia, with Luke Shaw starting on the opposite flank. Eric Bailly and Chris Smalling could well be our opening day centre-back pairing, so they’ll get the nod here.

The aforementioned Matic will see his first friendly action of the summer, sitting alongside the talented Scott McTominay. Just in front of these two, Angel Gomes should start and it’ll be intriguing to see how he gets on.

Alexis Sanchez, Anthony Martial and Juan Mata make up an excellent front three that will cause any defence problems.
