Manchester United’s biggest game of the season is rapidly approaching, and in just 24 hours we’ll know whether Louis van Gaal’s men did manage to win the FA Cup. To begin our build-up, we’ve taken a look at the probable starting line-up for the game.
There are probably five or six players in the team who are an absolute certainty to start, so lets get them out of the way first. David de Gea will begin in goal, with Daley Blind and Chris Smalling in front of him. Onto the midfield, we fully expect Wayne Rooney and Michael Carrick to continue. The other couple who are a shoe-in to keep their places are Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford.
Onto the positions in the starting line-up that are up for grabs then, and lets begin with the full-backs. Antonio Valencia will face stiff competition from Matteo Darmian for the right-back spot, but he should just hold off to keep it. The same applies to Marcos Rojo, but he’ll likely begin.
On the right-wing there is a battle between Jesse Lingard and Juan Mata, but I think Louis van Gaal will opt for pace. Marouane Fellaini should also get the nod ahead of the Spaniard in the attacking midfielder role.
