4-2-3-1: Probable Manchester United XI vs Middlesbrough – Fellaini starts

Manchester United take on manager-less Middlesbrough tomorrow lunchtime, with Jose Mourinho’s men looking to capitalise on Arsenal dropping more Premier League points. The game itself won’t be easy, particularly on the back of a gruelling week for the Red Devils.

We’ve decided to draw up the likely starting XI for the game, with several changes probably to be made; some of which have been enforced.

David de Gea will come back into the goal after being rested against FC Rostov, and he’ll have both Eric Bailly and Chris Smalling in front of him. This would be a good game for Luke Shaw to get another start, just before the international break. Antonio Valencia makes up the back four.

Michael Carrick and Marouane Fellaini will both come into the elven, with Ander Herrera suspended and Paul Pogba injured. The midfield must be a real concern for the manager as there isn’t many other options if further injuries occur.

Juan Mata had a fine game against Rostov and he’ll start. Henrikh Mkhitaryan also played pretty well in that one. Jesse Lingard will also play, with Marcus Rashford leading the line as Zlatan Ibrahimovic continues his domestic suspension.
