Manchester United take on their fiercest of rivals in the form of Liverpool this weekend, with Jose Mourinho looking to kick-start his side’s season with a stunning victory. The game itself won’t be easy, with Jurgen Klopp’s team in excellent form to start off the season.
Ahead of the match, we’ve decided to try and work out the starting line-up that Mourinho will roll with for the fixture, and a 4-3-3 looks likely as packing the midfield will be a great option.
In goal, we’ve got David de Gea. He’ll have the in-form duo of Chris Smalling and Eric Bailly in front of him which looks solid. Luke Shaw should come back into the side after overcoming injury, with Antonio Valencia likely to play on the right.
The trio in midfield provides a nice blend of everything needed to be successful. You have Marouane Fellaini’s physicality, Ander Herrera’s energy and Paul Pogba’s pure brilliance. They’ll have to be at the absolute top of their game to control the match.
In the final third, we have Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford on the wings as they’ll provide that lightning pace on the counter. Zlatan Ibrahimovic will be the lone striker.
