Manchester United will undoubtedly have huge plans for 2017/18.
Jose Mourinho has a big summer on his hands, and no doubt the Old Trafford faithful will be begging for some huge signings. One man who has been heavily linked with a Red Devils move is Shakhtar Donetsk’s star midfielder, Fred.
In my opinion, this is a move that is looking increasingly likely to go through, so with that in mind, we’ve drawn up a potential starting XI for next season including the Brazilian. Bare in mind this is a theoretical line-up, assuming everyone is fit and ready to play.
Potential Man United XI for next season including Fred:
Straight away, the 25-year-old brings brilliant balance to the middle of the park. Nemanja Matic will continue to play the holding midfield role, with Fred coming in as a true box-to-box man who’ll cause havoc in both penalty boxes. Hopefully, that’ll free up Paul Pogba who is begging to be let off Mourinho’s leash…
I’m genuinely thrilled at the prospect of signing Fred. He seems perfect for the physical Premier League style and United should pay whatever it takes to sign him.
Now it’s just a case of getting the deal completed before the World Cup. Edward Woodward still has a fortnight, and that should be more than enough time.
