Manchester United need four points from their final three Premier League fixtures to ensure they finish in second.
It’s a target that Jose Mourinho set a few months ago now, and his players are mightily close to achieving the feat. With that said, there is still a job that needs to be done. Brighton & Hove Albion will certainly provide a stern test.
Working out the gaffer’s thinking for this one has been tough, but this is the starting line-up I reckon we’ll go with:
Manchester United’s Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year David de Gea will obviously start in goal. Chris Smalling has become an integral player in Mourinho’s plans so he’ll play, whereas Phil Jones will start alongside him. Antonio Valencia has been the go-to right-back, with Ashley Young completing the back four.
Nemanja Matic has been an absolute powerhouse in the defensive midfield spot, so no doubt he’ll play. Marouane Fellaini scored the all-important winning goal against Arsenal, when you couple that with the fact that Mourinho is trying to get him to stay, I think the big Belgium international will get the nod. Paul Pogba simply has to start.
With Romelu Lukaku picking up an injury last weekend, I fully expect the club to rest him for this one. Marcus Rashford leads the line, with his support coming from Jesse Lingard and Alexis Sanchez.
