It feels like every game, Jose Mourinho is under the microscope right now. Manchester United haven’t been anywhere near good enough recently. The manager has to take the blame for that.
The Red Devils don’t have too much time to dwell on an awful loss away at West Ham United, though. Next up, a home Champions League game against Valencia CF. Win here, and we’re already in a commanding position in the group. Lose, well, I fear for the self-proclaimed Special One’s job…
Anyway, with that in mind, let’s delve right into the predicted line-up.
David de Gea will continue in goal. I feel somewhat sorry for the Spaniard, as the rest of the team just haven’t been anywhere near good enough. In front of him, Eric Bailly comes into the side. He’ll partner Chris Smalling. Luke Shaw has easily been our best outfield player to start this season, he’ll start. Diogo Dalot gets the nod on the opposite side.
Marouane Fellaini will sit at the base of the midfield three, with Fred coming into the fold after being rested at the weekend. Paul Pogba makes up the trio, we need a big game from him.
Romelu Lukaku will always lead the line when fully fit and healthy. Jesse Lingard and Alexis Sanchez weren’t even in the squad against West Ham. They’ll be hungry to prove their point and show that they should have been involved.
