Mauricio Pochettino’s men head to Old Trafford with two wins from two. The game will be a tightly-contested affair. First things first, though, United simply have to sort out their defensive woes. Jose Mourinho always builds his team out from the back. They’ve been uncharacteristically poor to start this season.

Anyway, with that in mind, let’s dive right into our predicted starting line-up for the eagerly anticipated encounter.

Predicted Manchester United XI vs Spurs:

In goal, David de Gea gets the nod as per usual. He’ll have a much-changed back four in front of him though. The only defender who’ll remain is Luke Shaw. Antonio Valencia will return from injury to make his first start of the season, as captain no less. Phil Jones and Chris Smalling are both likely to come into the team.

Andreas Pereira will keep his place in the midfield alongside both Fred and Paul Pogba. These guys have to put in a far better showing this time around, there is no doubt about that.

The other returnee? Alexis Sanchez on the left-wing, Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial have hardly set the world alight in one start apiece this term. Jesse Lingard looked good as a second-half substitute last time out. Romelu Lukaku will lead the line.
