5-3-2: Man United predicted XI vs Arsenal – Lindelof & Lukaku continue

Manchester United Football Club are going into every game knowing they have to win just to keep pace with Manchester City. Things don’t get any easier, either, with a trip to Arsenal taking place this coming Saturday.

Personally, I love watching the intensity these games are played at. The two teams absolutely hate each other, and that fight, drive and desire to win these games still exists.

Ahead of the game, we’ve decided to take a look at the starting line-up that manager Jose Mourinho will go with, and it hasn’t been easy. We’re still unsure on the current injury situation, particularly where Nemanja Matic and Marouane Fellaini are concerned.

Man United predicted XI vs Arsenal

I expect to see the 5-3-2 system deployed, with David de Gea getting the nod in between the sticks. Let’s move onto the back three. Chris Smalling will play at the heart of it, with the emerging Victor Lindelof on his right and the returning Marcos Rojo just to his left.

Ashley Young was absolutely superb against Watford, so he’ll head into this one in buoyant mood. Antonio Valencia is a shoe-in to start on the right-hand side.

Then we’ll see Ander Herrera start, with Paul Pogba also playing in the midfield. Jesse Lingard had one of his best games as a Manchester United player during midweek, he deserves to continue.

Anthony Martial is loving life right now, so he’ll play. Then, I had a decision to make regarding Romelu Lukaku. Personally, I’d drop the big Belgian, but I think Mourinho will resist temptations to play Zlatan Ibrahimovic and stick with the former Everton man.
