5-3-2: Man United predicted XI vs West Brom – Fellaini starts

At this stage, every game is a must win for Manchester United. Jose Mourinho’s team sits in second place, but some eleven points off the pace.

Next up, a potential banana skin away at West Bromwich Albion. The Baggies always put up a fight, and that’ll be no different on Sunday afternoon.

We’ve drawn up the starting XI that we think the manager will go with, including switching back to the 3-5-2 formation that has served us well at times.

Check out Man United’s predicted XI here:

In goal, David de Gea will start, with the trio of Phil Jones, Chris Smalling and Victor Lindelof. It’s nice to have Jones back ready and available, and he was superb against AFC Bournemouth in midweek.

Arguably, the most important position in this formation is the full-backs. Antonio Valencia is tailor-made for the right-wingback slot, with Ashley Young doing an equally good job over on the left.

Nemanja Matic is easily the best signing we made over the summer, and he’ll sit just in front of the defence, giving them another of protection. Marouane Fellaini is back and available and this is the perfect game for him. Jesse Lingard makes up the midfield.

Then we have Anthony Martial and Romelu Lukaku. They’ve worked brilliantly as a pairing, so it doesn’t make sense to change that at the moment.
