Manchester United chose to recall Will Keane from his loan move at Preston North-End earlier this month, with the idea that he could well become a part of the first team squad. That notion has certainly grew over the last few weeks, as the striker has now netted five goals in his last two U21 outings.
Will Keane, now 23, has had a series of loan moves over the last few years without ever getting that big chance to impress at Manchester United. However he could be closer than ever to breaking into the mix after two superb performances for United’s youth side.
When you factor in that there is only Anthony Martial and Wayne Rooney who are recognised strikers in the squad at the moment, if one of them goes down with an injury, Will Keane is next in line as James Wilson is out on loan.
Personally I’d love to see him given his well-deserved chance in the FA Cup against Derby next week, and lets see how he does against Championship opposition before being thrown into the deep end that is the Premier League.
