68 touches, 3 interceptions, 1 pass, 1 goal: Alexis Sanchez puts in MOTM performance

Manchester United Football Club picked up another all-important Premier League victory yesterday, with Jose Mourinho’s men beating Swansea City 2-0.

The three points were obviously huge, but what was even more pleasing than the result was the individual performance from Alexis Sanchez. The Chile international has largely struggled since moving to Old Trafford, but against Carlos Carvalhal’s men, it was a display that we expect to see from United’s #7.

The Chile international has largely struggled since moving to Old Trafford, but against Carlos Carvalhal’s men, it was a display that we expect to see on a more from United’s #7.

Per Squawka, the 29-year-old had 68 touches of the ball, making 49 passes. Sanchez showed his willingness to work defensively, making three interceptions, while also winning two tackles.

Obviously, the most important stats are his offensive numbers, as he created two chances, as he scored one and also picked up an assist for Romelu Lukaku (who scored his 100th Premier League goal).

It really was a complete display from Sanchez, and as alluded to earlier, it’s something we really need to see from him more often. Sure, it can be tough when you move to a new club, and hopefully, this is the start of something special for him at Old Trafford.

Heck, you could see how much it meant to him in his celebration. He wants to win major trophies here, and it’d take a brave man to bet against him doing exactly that.
