Alex Buttner’s move to Dinamo Moscow is all but confirmed as his brother, Denny, posts pictures of the pair in Russia yesterday. The left-back was adamant he was going to leave Manchester United as he didn’t want to work with incoming manager Louis van Gaal.
Buttner made an excellent start to his Manchester United career by scoring on his debut against Wigan. However, he did spend most of his time sat in the dugout, and a move away will likely bring him regular playing football – something which he requires.
A couple of days ago, Buttner said:
“Van Gaal never gave me the chance in the Dutch national team, despite being voted man of the match 14 times at Manchester United.
“Apparently, he is not very confident about me. So I think this is the right moment to leave.”
This is would certainly explain the move away from the club. Personally I’d be sad to see him go because he seems like a character. However, with Shaw’s move imminent and Patrice Evra signing an contract extension then a left-back was always going to leave.
