Alex Buttner wants Manchester United exit

Just one year after making a £4million switch to United, Alexander Buttner could be on his way out of Old Trafford. The Express claim that Buttner’s agent is disappointed that his client hasn’t been able to leave Manchester on loan, and has slammed the club for failing to secure a deal for Fabio Coentrao.

Buttner is unhappy about the lack of playing time he’ll get this year, and was close to sealing a loan deal with Besiktas until potential deals for Leighton Baines and Fabio Coentrao fell through. Both Celtic and Sunderland have also enquired about the Dutchman’s availability, but Manchester United want to keep hold of the player in case Patrice Evra picks up an injury.

With it being a World Cup year you can understand Buttner’s frustration. The start to the season wouldn’t have helped either, as he hasn’t even made the bench under Moyes, whereas under Fergie he was in every Premier League match day squad.

His agent told Voetbal International:

“Under Sir Alex Ferguson, Buttner was the up and coming man.

“He started playing in more games and was trusted in training. That sense of trust is not there now.”

The 24-year old left-back is yet to feature for Holland at full international level.
