We all know that Manchester United have been feeling out Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal for the last couple of months, and with every passing day the move looks less likely to happen. According to The Express, if Manchester United cannot lure Vidal to Old Trafford, then Louis van Gaal will try to bring Barcelona midfielder Alex Song to Manchester instead.
Alex Song has often found himself rotting on the bench at the Camp Nou since he made the move from Arsenal back in 2012, and the Cameroonian could be on his way back to England to try and prove his worth.
Whilst at Arsenal, Song was regarded as one of the best midfielders in the league due to his defensive abilities, work-rate and the skill to pick out an defence splitting pass. Chelsea were interested in Song before signing Fabregas, and it is believed Tottenham are still keeping tabs on Song’s situation.
He’d be a good partner for Ander Herrera in Manchester United’s midfield, and I reckon the pair will compliment each-other very nicely. They’d certainly be a much better partnership than the Fellaini and Cleverley one we had to witness on occasion last season…
