Alexis Sanchez’s misery continues on international duty, as Chilean misses spot-kick

Manchester United Football Club thought they were heading back in the right direction when they signed Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal in January.

Well, it’s fair to say that move hasn’t really panned out as they would have expected. The Chilean has struggled since day one, and a handful of good performances aside, it has mostly been disastrous for the ex-Arsenal man…

Perhaps Sanchez was looking forward to the international break, as sort of a part-time escape from the dramas that are unfolding at Old Trafford. Well, things haven’t worked for him in South America either, with Goal reporting that the #7 missed a penalty during Chile’s embarrassing loss to Costa Rica – who themselves hadn’t won in nine games before going up against Sanchez’s country.

The game finished 3-2, with Sanchez given the opportunity to level from the spot but he couldn’t take it. The winger is in an extremely bad place right now, and I genuinely feel sorry for him.

He expected United to compete for major trophies, in fact, since Sanchez has arrived, United have only gone one way – and it’s not up…

Sometimes, certain signings just don’t work out. Perhaps it’s in everybody’s’ best interests to move Sanchez on as soon as possible. Let’s help both parties get back on the right track…
