Ander Herrera has given Manchester United a huge boost, by making his intentions clear that he’s ready to sign a new contract.
The Basque-born midfielder’s current deal expires next summer, but according to The Independent, Herrera wants to put pen to paper on a new deal, despite knowing that he’s not going to be a regular starter.
Honestly, I think this is a no-brainer. Herrera loves this club. He gives absolutely everything for the cause. The former Athletic Club man has shown a passion, desire, and drive to win on multiple occasions, and we’re lucky to have him.
Sure, he may not be the best player out there, but he brings some much-needed energy and tempo to the midfield, particularly in those tight-knit games.
I’m glad that he wants to stick around. It’s not been as trophy-laden as he’d have probably hoped, but it’s clear that he doesn’t plan on going anywhere until he’s delivered the big one; a Premier League title.
Hopefully, come next May, we’re all celebrating #21, with Ander Herrera leading the chants no doubt!
