Manchester United Football Club have just a couple of games left to play this season, with Jose Mourinho’s men all ready and raring to go in the Europa League final. Before that, though, we have one more dead rubber to play in the Premier League; a home game against Crystal Palace.
Being such a big club with an awful lot of players, that sadly means that not everyone will get the chance to play all of the time. Some footballers will have to leave Old Trafford on loan, and that was the case for Andreas Pereira this season.
Last campaign, we witnessed the talented Brazilian given opportunities in the cup games, but this year he was shipped off to Spain, to play for Granada in La Liga.
He has been a mainstay in their starting line-up, for sadly, despite all of his best efforts, he couldn’t help his teammates avoid relegation which is a real shame.
That didn’t dampen his spirits though and there was no doubting that Pereira was one of Granada’s best performers throughout the campaign. That’s credit to his sheer talent, ability and attitude.
As he departed, he had a message for the fans, and it’s great to see such interaction between players and supporters.
“I want to thank the club for everything they did for me, I want to thank my teammates for fighting together till the end and also want to thank all the fans who supported me this season!” Pereira told his Instagram followers.
Next season is absolutely huge for the young attacking midfielder. I just hope that Jose Mourinho does give him the opportunity to prove his worth. He seems like a hard worker, and if Pereira can adapt to the gaffer’s tactics then I’m sure it could be a fruitful relationship going forward. We’ve lacked creatviity, and the Brazilian attacker will bring lots of chance creation to the table.
