Close to two years ago now, Manchester United spent a huge £60million to bring in Angel di Maria from Real Madrid, which is still our record transfer fee. However as we all know, that move didn’t work out whatsoever, despite him being one of the best in the world at his job.
Since the day he left the speedy winger hasn’t stopped firing jibes at Manchester United, and now he has claimed that the club did not let him settle – as well as his reasoning for leaving being that Manchester United don’t win things.
“It’s not nice to say certain things, but it’s more that they didn’t let me settle properly than I couldn’t settle.” Di Maria began. “I left and that team are still playing the same way. Out of the European competitions, far from being champions of the PL.”
“Every time I was given the opportunity, I did all I could but it didn’t work out as I hoped.”
“So I decided to leave, not only to be happy but to win things. I started a game in one position then the next game in another.”
At the end of the day when things got tough for him over here, he quit out on Manchester United at the first opportunity. Thats massively disappointing from the point of view of all involved, but its now time for him to move on like we have, and stop firing shots.
