Manchester United look all set to part with Angel di Maria before the season opener at the weekend, in a deal worth around £44million – making it the clubs second highest sale behind the £80million man Cristiano Ronaldo.
Today, his future teammate Thiago Silva has had his say on the move, and somewhat bizarrely labelled Paris Saint-Germain [a side who were formed in 1970], a BIGGER club than Manchester United.
When Thiago Silva was quizzed about Di Maria’s move, he responded: “If you join PSG, you are you probably taking a step up [From Man Utd].”
Its worth noting that PSG are a club who are only 44 years old, and only have five Ligue One titles in their history. When you compare that to United’s 20 Premier League titles coupled with three Champions League crowns, you find it tough to see where Thiago Silva is coming from on this one…
Many United fans were suggesting that the club should try and lure Silva away from PSG as part of the deal, but I’m pretty certain they don’t want him at the club now.
