From Paul Pogba to Alexis Sanchez. Frustrations under Jose Mourinho are seemingly growing. The Red Devils are struggling to get wins under their belt. What’s unfolding in the dressing room is now leaking out onto the pitch.
Now, David de Gea is unhappy with life under the self-proclaimed Special One, according to a report from The Sun, per The Metro.
The 27-year-old has been Manchester United’s best player for the last half-decade. I don’t think there is any disputing that. De Gea has remained the consummate professional throughout various transfer sagas. I think it’s telling that there is a real underlying issue if even he’s not happy.
What’s even more concerning is that De Gea is entering the final year of his United contract. Yes, the club do have the option to extend that deal by a further twelve months, but it’s worrying times. If he refuses to quit, then the Old Trafford club may be forced into selling the Spaniard next summer.
Now, Pogba, I take his words with a pinch of salt, but if De Gea is unhappy, that’s a completely different story. He’s our top performer, we need him to stick around in the long-term. If you gave me the choice between him and the boss? I’m taking the goalkeeper every single time. That’s just how good he is.
