Anthony Martial’s next Premier League goal to cost Man United £8.9million: report

A few years ago now, Anthony Martial introduced himself to the Old Trafford faithful in the perfect way; scoring on debut against Liverpool.

Now, as the 22-year-old prepares to face the Red Devils’ greatest rival once again, a goal from the Frenchman could cost the club a huge £8.9million.

That’s what The Times says anyway, per the Daily Mirror. When he signed for United from AS Monaco, he had plenty of clauses within his contract that’d mean the Reds would have to pay the French club based on performance.

One of those terms stated United would owe almost £9million once Martial reaches 25 Premier League goals. Currently, he sits on 24, and if he scores at the weekend then United will have to pay up.

Martial has been nothing short of brilliant since moving to England and the fans absolutely love him. He’s quick, direct, skilful and a handful for any opposing defender and we’re lucky to have him.

He’s been out injured over the last week, but hopefully, he’ll be fit to take on Liverpool at the weekend, and if he’s on form, then I don’t see how the Merseysiders will be able to stop him. A win in this one would go an awful long way to securing our second-place finish in the Premier League.
