Arsenal after Tom Cleverley as part of Thomas Vermaelen deal

Arsenal are reportedly after bringing Tom Cleverley to the Emirates this summer, and are trying to include the England midfielder as part of an exchange deal that could see Thomas Vermaelen going the other way, claim the Mirror. The Arsenal boss also is keeping tabs on young centre-back Chris Smalling.

Manchester United are trying to secure the signature of £10m rated Thomas Vermaelen, and Tom Cleverley going the other way could persuade Arsene Wenger to part with less money for the Belgian centre-back.

Cleverley has struggled for regular football at United this season, and is often criticised by the fans for his inability to move the ball forward and play at a quick tempo. He’s had his chance, and I for one wouldn’t be too disappointed if he were to be moved on this summer.

  1. No, we keep Clevz. People we need to remove are fellaini, zaha, welbeck, young, Jones, henriquez, powell, anderson as non are good enough for ManUtd especially zaha, young, fellaini,Powell. Cleverly will be better with a forwards thinking boss like van gaal, there is a reason he was a great player under Ferguson but not so great being played out of position under a crap backwards boss like moyes.

  2. zaha powell jones welbeck and henriques are young and have potential u cant sell our youth then there will be no depth in the squad….

  3. AJ, go and support City you cock. Getting rid of Fellaini, Young, Cleverley ok but when Powell has played such a prominent part for Wigan and he’s only 20. Zaha, Henriquez should be at least given a chance.
