Manchester United had a couple of youngsters who enjoyed impressive loan spells in the Championship last term; Dean Henderson and Axel Tuanzebe.
Both will be feeling confident that they can come back to Old Trafford and make an impression for the Red Devils first-team. Today, The Sun are running an exclusive on the young centre-back Tuanzebe.
They say that the 21-year-old Tuanzebe is set for ‘showdown talks’ with Manchester United over the next fortnight to discuss his future. After an excellent spell at Aston Villa, he’s ready to make his mark at United – with the Englishman want to stay and ‘fight for his place’ under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Understandably, the recently-promoted side are keen on taking him back for another year – although the Baby Faced Assassin is ready to give Tuanzebe his chance as he looks to inject youth into the United squad.
It is believed that Solskjaer and Tuanzebe will sit down for talks before the squad head out for their pre-season tour on July 8th – presumably to discuss what the club’s plans are for the centre-back.
There’s absolutely no doubt in my mind that Tuanzebe has the talent to make an impression at Old Trafford. Aged just 21, the world is his oyster after an excellent end to the 2018/19 season with Villa.
The confidence will be flowing and he’ll be keen to prove to United just how good he can be while on tour of Australasia. If you asked me now if I’d prefer minutes to be given to Tuanzebe or Phil Jones, I’d opt for the former every single time…
