BBC: Man United continue to look at potential signings, Bruno Fernandes not a target

Yesterday, we covered a story from Sky Sports in which it was claimed that Manchester United had ended their interest in Paulo Dybala.

Well, that was a claim backed up by the BBC, although they did offer a little snippet on Bruno Fernandes, who is another player constantly linked with an Old Trafford move over the last few months…

They state that United will continue to look for potential signings before Thursday’s deadline, though the Red Devils have ruled out a move for the 24-year-old midfielder Fernandes.

Furthermore, United officials are ‘increasingly confident’ that Paul Pogba will remain at Old Trafford this summer, while club officials have been impressed with the Frenchman’s attitude so far – which is a huge plus as it would have been easy for the midfield maestro to have his head turned.

Fernandes’ numbers in 2018/19 speak for themselves. The midfielder directly contributed to 50 goals, sticking 32 in the back of the net himself. Those are impressive figures whichever way you look at them, but I do like the attitude that United are displaying here.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will simply not be buying players just for the sake of it. He’ll only invest in footballers who want to be here, while obviously preferring those that fit the system he’s trying to play…
