Berba: My Time Is Up

Today Dimitar Berbatov finally confirmed the inevitable, that he is leaving United in the summer. Back in March SAF confirmed that we would be taking up the option of the one year extension in his contract purely so we could recuperate some of the £30million pound we paid for him back in 2008.

“My time at Manchester United is running out,” he told bTV on Sunday. “I no longer feel like a valuable part of this team.”

“I think I did well in the few opportunities that I received. But I am a little frustrated by the way this happened, I do not think I deserved it.”

He was then asked whether a move to local neighbours Man City could be on the cards

“I would never join Man City, I am a loyal person after all,” he said. “I had the opportunity to sign for City in the past, but I chose United.”

Berbatov is so classy, i’m gutted he’s going as he offered us a different dimension. Throughout the last year where he’s hardly featured he has not said a bad word about the club to the press, and this is exactly the way it should be. I hope a big club in Europe takes him on as he can still play at the highest level. I wish him well wherever he ends up, all the best Berba!
