After failing with an initial bid of £28m for the Everton duo Marouane Fellaini and Leighton Baines, Manchester United are set to up their offer to £35m, according to the Mirror. The next bid is set to rate Marouane Fellaini at £20m, and Leighton Baines at £15m – a considerable £7m improvement on the earlier bid.
Everton labelled United’s first offer as ‘derisory and insulting’, but the Old Trafford club are set to test Everton’s resolve due to their poor financial situation; Something David Moyes will know more than most about.
Moyes still hasn’t made a signing in the transfer window yet, and he’ll certainly be keen to invest in the squad before September 2nd. We still need at least one midfielder and for me Marouane Fellaini fits the bill perfectly.
Leighton Baines is currently the best left-back in the country, and although Patrice Evra is a fan favourite, Baines will certainly improve our starting line-up.
