Big blow as Jose Mourinho confirms key player won’t be fit for Leicester clash

Manchester United’s league form has dipped off a bit recently, with Jose Mourinho’s men drawing three league games in a row. Things don’t get any easier either, with a trip to Champions Leicester City next on the agenda, and Ranieri’s men will certainly be up for the match.

However, the game has been made significantly harder for the self-proclaimed Special One and his team, as the boss confirmed that one key player won’t be available for selection.

That man is Phil Jones, who had to be hauled off against Hull City on Wednesday night, and he’ll now miss this game against The Foxes.

“Only Phil Jones is not in the condition to play.” Jose Mourinho is quoted as saying by United’s official website.

It’s a real shame because he’s been absolutely outstanding recently, and the Englishman had been forming an excellent partnership with Marcos Rojo at the back.

However, it shouldn’t be a tough task to replace the 24-year-old, because don’t forget we have Eric Bailly waiting in the wings – and he hasn’t played for the first-team since returning back from the African Cup of Nations.

Hopefully, the injury isn’t too serious and Jonesy will be back available for selection next weekend.
