Manchester United Football Club look set to miss out on the signature of Nemanja Matic, according to Corriere dello Sport, translated by The Sun. They say that the 28-year-old powerhouse has agreed personal terms with Juventus, ahead of a switch to Turin.
It was only hours ago when rumours surfaced suggesting that he was ready to force through a move to the Theatre of Dreams, in order to link up with his former boss Jose Mourinho.
Now, out of absolutely nowhere, it looks certain that he’ll be plying his trade in the Serie A next season, and what a huge blow this is for Mourinho and Manchester United.
Personally, it seems like ever since we signed Romelu Lukaku, a move for Matic seemed less likely. Obviously, they’ll be hurt that we signed the big Belgian from right under their noses and now they wouldn’t like to deal with us at all.
This is a real shame as I think the Serb is a fantastic player and he would have worked wonders just sitting in front of our back four. Now, the manager will have to look elsewhere and try to persuade other viable options to make the move to Old Trafford instead.
