Manchester United’s Juan Mata has been in and out of the team ever since he arrived at Old Trafford. More often than not, though, he tends to deliver the goods due to his individual brilliance.
The loveable Spaniard, who is now 30, is one of several superstars who’s current United deals are winding down. With the way things are going, you couldn’t blame the players if they walked away from Old Trafford for free.
However, it looks as though Mata is set to commit his long-term future to United, as Sky Sports News, per Calciomercato, claim that the attacking midfielder is close to signing a new contract at the Theatre of Dreams.
Apparently, Juventus have been chasing the former Chelsea man, and they’ve been dealt a big blow in regards to the news that Mata plans to stay in Manchester.
Personally, I’m delighted. I think United’s #8 brings something different to the table. He’s a rare breed in regards to the fact that he understands how this club works and operates, and I think it’s fair to say he’s one of the nicest blokes in football. In this day and age, we’re lucky to call him ours.
