Manchester United are yet to kick a ball in the 2018/19 season, in fact, we’re just a few hours away from exactly that.
However, the Red Devils have received a major boost, with the news from The Guardian suggesting that Alexis Sanchez is now eligible to fly to the United States of America to take part in pre-season tour. The Chile international will fly out ‘shortly’ to join his teammates for both training and friendly matches.
It was just a few days ago when the 29-year-old found out that he was struggling to get to America due to visa issues, but it seems those problems have been ironed out; and this is so vital for Sanchez, particularly after his first six months at Old Trafford didn’t go as well as he’d have anticipated.
Having a perfect pre-season is so vital. Not only does it build up the all-important fitness levels, but your on-field relationships with your teammates begins to grow. United are playing some extremely tough games this time around, and testing yourself against the best can only be a good thing.
This is Sanchez’s first summer at the Theatre of Dreams, and the importance of going through everything unscathed cannot be understated. With this in mind, I’m certainly expecting the man from Chile to have a stellar twelve months.
