Jose Mourinho has been handed a major injury boost, with Antonio Conte confirming that three Chelsea players will miss the game at Old Trafford with injuries.
TalkSPORT quote the Italian manager claiming that David Luiz, Tiemoue Bakayoko and Ross Barkley have all been ruled out of Sunday’s game, leaving Chelsea thin in some key areas.
As we know all too well, Manchester United have struggled in games against the Premier League big-boys under Mourinho. Perhaps our best win came last season, against Chelsea, when Ander Herrera man-marked Eden Hazard out of the game. Unfortunately, the Basque-born midfielder won’t be doing something similar this weekend as he’s also missing.
Manchester United and Chelsea games are always hard-fought, but with the opposing manager’s not seeing eye-to-eye recently, I expect more feisty, full-blooded tackles this weekend too. Who knows, we could even see it kicking off over on the touchline if the referee makes a contentious decision or two.
With our top-four rivals putting in some convincing performances recently, United desperately need to notch up a victory this weekend. What a huge fixture we have in store and no doubt Old Trafford will be bouncing.
