Manchester United’s January transfer window was a pretty quiet one in terms of incomings, considering the fact that Jose Mourinho decided to part with both Memphis Depay and Morgan Schneiderlin, without really looking for a replacement. However, the summer could well be very different…
It wasn’t that long ago when the media were linking Manchester United with a possible move to sign one of AS Monaco’s top talents; Tiemoue Bakayoko. Now though, we’ve potentially been dealt a huge blow in the pursuit of the Frenchman, according to Sky Sports News’ Guillem Balague.
The La Liga expert has claimed that Bakayoko has already agreed personal terms with Antonio Conte’s Chelsea, but he seems to suggest that a deal is far from done as he claims it’s now up to Chelsea to offer more money than any other club.

Bakayoko is a player I’ve personally only recently started watching, and my he looks like a supremely talented athlete. Against Manchester City, the holding midfielder was mature beyond his years as he absolutely dominated the middle of the park for two legs – before scoring the winning goal in the dying embers of the tie.
Aged just twenty-two, you’d be investing in pure talent as his best years are still way in front of him, but already, he looks like a player who is capable of playing in any midfield in the world; and I’m not exaggerating here.
He’d be a wonderful addition to Manchester United, and it looks like Jose Mourinho and Edward Woodward will have to do something special to pull this one off as Chelsea seem to be the clear frontrunners right now.
