It looks as though Manchester United’s pursuit of Ivan Perisic is over. Inter Milan have issued a hands-off warning, according to The Sun, as the 28-year-old attacker looks set to stay at the San Siro for another season at the very least.
Jose Mourinho’s made three brilliant acquisitions this summer, but if you’ve watched any of our pre-season tour, you can see exactly why the manager wants an out-and-out left-winger within the squad.
We have a lot of insanely talented attackers, but we don’t have that guy who’ll hug the touchline and whip balls into the box. That’s what Perisic would bring in abundance, as well as offering some serious work rate on the defensive side of the ball.
However, you always felt like Milan were going to dig their heels in and try to do their utmost to keep Perisic at their club. Unfortunately for us, they seem to have succeeded and now the Red Devils will have to turn their attentions elsewhere.
Who knows who the self-proclaimed Special One will target now, but we’re into the final month of the transfer window so the club will have to get a move on; perhaps Mourinho won’t even bother at all, and maybe he’ll wait until January or next summer.
