The summer transfer window isn’t officially open yet, but that hasn’t stopped Manchester United being linked with a new player almost daily. The Red Devils haven’t secured any new additions to the squad but I’d imagine it will not be long before we start hearing something concrete.
United have always played host to legends and one true great who still works for the club in an ambassadorial role is Bryan Robson. Captain Marvel has been speaking to the media about a variety of topics surrounding the club he loves.
One man, in particular, he was asked about was Alexis Sanchez of Arsenal, who still hasn’t signed a new deal at The Emirates Stadium.
Reports asked Robson as to whether the Chile international would fit in at the Theatre of Dreams, and it is pretty obvious that the former great is a huge admirer of the 28-year-old.
“His character is right, he is a tough player, really skilful, he works really hard and works hard. He can score goals and create goals,’ said Robson, as per the Daily Mirror.
“When you put all that package into one, he’s exactly the type that we would like here.”
“Remember he has played at a club like Arsenal, where you’ve got to be able to handle pressure.”
In terms of a ready-made player who could come in and make an instant impact at the club, I don’t think it gets much better than Alexis Sanchez. The guy was one of the best in the Premier League last season, and to add him to our already dangerous front line would be insane.
However, this deal would be tough to complete. Arsenal won’t want a repeat of what happened when we took Robin van Persie off their hands in 2012 and you cannot really blame them. I guess that if they were resigned to losing Sanchez, they’d prefer to sell him abroad which is fair enough.
