The Antoine Griezmann saga has already taken plenty of twists and turns. Manchester United are keen on signing the brilliant attacker if reports are to be believed, but it feels like we’re getting a new update on the situation almost daily, and it’s already becoming quite an irritant.
With that said, we’ll continue to bring you updates until the transfer either happens or falls through. We’re talking about one of the best players in the world here, and if the Old Trafford club are indeed interested, this deal could be a long and drawn out process; just look at how long it took us to push a deal for Paul Pogba through.
That’s just the nature of the business. Anyway, United’s Global Ambassador Bryan Robson has had his say on the current situation, and he has confirmed that the Frenchman does, in fact want, to leave Atletico Madrid, whilst adding that he thinks the player is ‘top class’.
“Griezmann is a top class player. We know that he wants to leave Atletico Madrid but he’s the sort of player that United would want to bring in,” Robson told Jim White on talkSPORT.
“He’s definitely a player who’s got the quality to be a United player.”
This is made all the more interesting because he is currently employed by the club and you’d imagine he would know more than most about what is going on behind closed doors.
I think any club in the world would absolutely love to have a player like Griezmann on their books and that is no different at the Theatre of Dreams.
A front three including Griezmann, Ibrahimovic and Henrikh Mkhitaryan oozes class. That’s before you even mention the fact that the likes of Juan Mata, Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford are waiting in the wings. It’s an attacking force to be scared of, but it would come at a huge cost. As we all know though, Edward Woodward and the United board aren’t scared of spending big-money, heck, just look at the Paul Pogba deal.
