2016/17 Player Ratings: Everton 1-1 Manchester United

David de Gea – Made some very nice saves. It’s always tough to stop penalties, so hard to criticise for that. 6/10

Antonio Valencia – An absolute tank. Bombed up and down the right-hand side all day. 6/10

David de Gea – The Spaniard made an error which allowed West Ham to get back level. Quiet putting that aside. 3/10

Antonio Valencia – Playing like a man possessed. He’s been an absolute joy to watch down that right, and it continued this evening. 7/10

David de Gea – Made a good stop late on to deny former Red Ashley Fletcher, but that’s all he had to do. 6/10

Antonio Valencia – Played well. Looked solid defensively and offered an outlet going forward. 6/10

Sergio Romero – Made a super save in the first-half to preserve his clean sheet. 6/10

Antonio Valencia – Played well. Defensively he was sound and he bombed forward wherever possible. 6/10

2016/17 Player Ratings: Manchester United 1-1 Arsenal – Mata shines

David de Gea – Literally had nothing to do throughout the game, which makes the result all the tougher to take. 6/10

Antonio Valencia – Brilliant to have him back, and my he was impressive. Defensively he was great, and going forward he was a real thorn in their side. 8/10

David de Gea – Had a fairly quiet afternoon. Not much he could do about Swansea’s consolation. 6/10

Ashley Young – Played out of position at right-back and did the best he could in a bad situation. 5/10

2016/17 Player Ratings: Fenerbahce 2-1 Manchester United

David de Gea – Had no chance to stop either goal. That was literally all he had to do. 4/10

Matteo Darmian – Looked lost as the game wore on. Defensively he wasn’t atrocious, but going forward he was poor. 3/10

David de Gea – Literally had nothing to do except catch the ball and distribute it to the players in front of him. 6/10

Matteo Darmian – Played very well, and took his chance to start in Valencia’s absence. Jose Mourinho will be pleased. 7/10

David de Gea – Literally had nothing to do. City didn’t have one shot on target, and all De Gea had to do was to pass the ball to his teammates. 6/10

Antonio Valencia – Played a blinder. Ran their left-back ragged and didn’t stop all game. Top performance. 8/10

David de Gea – The Spaniard was part of a comedy of errors for Chelsea’s opening goal. Couldn’t really do anything about the other three. 3/10

Antonio Valencia – Probably United’s best player in the first half, which doesn’t say much. Bombed down the right where possible. 4/10
