2016/17 Player Ratings: Manchester United 0-0 Hull City – Woeful Paul Pogba

David de Gea – Was a bystander in the game right until the death, when Hull City struck the post and left the keeper helpless. 5/10

Antonio Valencia – Nice to see him back involved, he literally had no defending to do. His final ball wasn’t great, though. 4/10

David de Gea – Made a few decent saves in the first half, but couldn’t stop the penalty. His distribution was decent. 5/10

Matteo Darmian – Weirdly, he looks more comfortable out on the left than he does on the right. His positioning was awful at times, and he was at fault for Hull’s second. 3/10

David de Gea – Couldn’t do anything about the goal, wasn’t tested at all putting that to one side. 6/10

Antonio Valencia – Got into the right areas but just couldn’t find that killer ball. 6/10

David de Gea – Couldn’t do anything to stop the penalty, made a smart save to deny Firmino. 6/10

Antonio Valencia – What a player he has become. He always offers himself as an outlet down the right, and today was no different. 7/10

David de Gea – Had a really quiet evening at Old Trafford and wasn’t really tested by the Hull City team. 5/10

Antonio Valencia – Very happy to run up and down that touchline all game. Did well on both sides of the ball. 6/10

Sergio Romero – Literally had nothing to do throughout. Marshalled his back four well though. 6/10

Ashley Young – Had a fairly quiet one. Defensively he looked pretty solid. 5/10

David de Gea – Made a couple of absolutely huge saves at 0-0 to keep his side in it. The best goalkeeper in the country by far. 7/10

Antonio Valencia – Bombed up and down that right-hand flank all afternoon. Played well. 6/10

David de Gea – Had a quiet afternoon. Couldn’t do anything about Borini’s wonder goal as the game wore on. 6/10

Antonio Valencia – Buccaneered down the right all game and linked up with the wingers superbly. 7/10

David de Gea – Did not have a single save to make which emphasises just how dominant United were. 6/10

Antonio Valencia – Nice to see Valencia back following his suspension. Did very well to deal with the pace of Phillips. 6/10

David de Gea – Made an outrageous save when United were 1-0 up to deny McCarthur. Couldn’t do anything about the goal. 6/10

Eric Bailly – Started brightly and managed to last until the 50th minute despite injury. Did well. 6/10
