Cavani ‘favours’ United over City or Chelsea

Edinson Cavani switched Naples for Paris last summer, in a deal which cost big spending PSG in excess of €64m just last summer. However Cavani, 27, has fallen out with Paris Saint-Germain’s current manager Laurent Blanc and is looking to move away, claim The Metro.

Cavani is a big admirer of the 4-4-2 formation, and obviously thought that’d be the tactic Blanc would employ in the French capital. Sadly for the 27-year old, the former-United player Blanc, has opted for a more traditional 4-3-3 which has meant Cavani has often found himself stuck on the right-wing.

Chelsea and Manchester City have been keen admirers of Cavani for some time, but have often been put off by the transfer fee. Due to Financial Fair Play, both City and Chelsea have to be careful with how much they spend this summer, leaving United in pole position.

It is also believed that the player himself would prefer a move to Old Trafford, as the club have shown far more of an interest in the player in recent months.

Cavani has an impressive record for PSG, scoring 22 goals in 37 appearances in his debut season.

Would Edinson Cavani be worth the reported £50m+ transfer fee? Or would you like to see that money spent on other areas? Leave your thoughts in the comment box below.
