Champions League Group Stage draw

Manchester United have been handed a tricky draw and will play against Shakhtar Donetsk, Bayern Leverkusen, and Real Sociedad in the UEFA Champions League group stages. Its a group you’d expect United to qualify from though, and hopefully as group winners.

There will be some tough matches for United, especially a trip to Ukraine for a game against Shakhtar Donetsk, although it could have been so much worse with lots of good teams in Europe’s premier competition.

Arsenal and Celtic got the toughest groups out of the British clubs, with the latter having to face Barcelona, AC Milan and Ajax.

Unlike recent years, Manchester City got a much easier group, but have been drawn against European Champions, Bayern Munich, and a potentially tough trip to Moscow to face CSKA.

Chelsea seemed to get the easiest group out of the British clubs.

Overall, it’s a great draw. Lots of potential banana skins for big clubs, and it should provide some excellent clashes.
