Chelsea would be happy to let Willian join Manchester United this summer; but only on one key condition.
According to The Telegraph, per The Metro, the Stamford Bridge club will sanction a move that would see Willian switch blue for red; provided Anthony Martial heads the other way.
Manager Jose Mourinho is keen on a reunion with the Brazil international, even failing with a bid to try and sign him twelve months ago.
Now a deal could be on the cards, although the London side would prefer to sell to FC Barcelona; whom are also interested in taking the 29-year-old.
United have a French ace up their sleeve, though. Martial has made it public knowledge that he intends to leave Old Trafford this summer, although I suspect the Red Devils, like Chelsea, would prefer it if he moved abroad.
Sometimes, though, deals just make sense. Martial isn’t going to play at United regularly. Willian wants out of Chelsea. Sure, we’d all prefer it if these guys upped-sticks and moved to another country, but if everyone’s happy, I wouldn’t be all-too surprised to see this deal go through.
United need a right-winger, while having an abundance of left-sided attackers. This would be classic Jose Mourinho, wouldn’t it?
