When the summer rolls around, it’d take a brave man to bet against Jose Mourinho further adding to the Manchester United playing squad. One man they’ve been heavily linked with is Christian Pulisic, from Borussia Dortmund.
The 19-year-old is making a huge name for himself out in the Bundesliga, and he certainly looks like the next teenage sensation who could go on to do big things in football.
Hailing from the United States, Pulisic was asked about whom he supported as a boy, and he revealed that the Red Devils were the team he followed.
“Yeah, I was. I was definitely a big fan.” Pulisic told ESPN, per the Manchester Evening News.
“Of course, right now I am under contract with Dortmund and I’m not looking around or doing anything like that so I’m very focused there.
“But, yeah, it’s cool to hear all this stuff!”
Although he admitted his allegiance to United, Pulisic answered the question with a maturity way beyond his years. Dortmund has done great in developing the young man’s game and no doubt they’ll continue to help him grow as a footballer.
However, breaking Bayern Munich’s grip on the top-flight title is no easy task, so I fully expect him to move away from Germany in the not too distant future. The best of the best end up in the Premier League eventually, and if United can get their hands on him, what a coup that’d be.
Who knows, if it comes to a straight shootout between Liverpool and United, the fact that he supported the Old Trafford club as a boy could well be the deciding factor…
