Manchester United have confirmed a move to sign Victor Lindelof from SL Benfica. The 22-year-old becomes Jose Mourinho’s first signing of the summer, with the gaffer clearly trying to improve his side in the defensive area of the field.
The club say that the man nicknamed the ‘Iceman’ will make his debut for United during their summer tour of the USA next month, and it certainly is exciting as we wait to see our new man in action.
Join us in saying #HejVictor.

The Red Devils found a real gem of a player in Eric Bailly last summer, and now it looks as though Mourinho hopes Lindelof will be the Ivorian’s long-term partner back there.
It has all the makings of a Ferdinand-Vidic back two in my opinion. Bailly is like Nemanja, a real front-footed defender who’ll put his body on the line to win at all costs. Whereas Lindelof is more cool, calm and composed, and he much prefers to play out from the back, similarly to Rio.
This is a wonderful signing for us, and if nothing else, it gives the Red Devils more depth in a key area of the field. I think it’s fair to say that both Phil Jones and Chris Smalling struggled immensely last season, and Mourinho’s confidence in the English duo has completely diminished. I wouldn’t be surprised to see at least one of them sold during this window.
