Manchester United take on Sunderland this afternoon, in a game that the Red Devils simply have to win to keep their top four hopes alive. Jose Mourinho will be desperate to get one over on former Reds boss, David Moyes in the process.
The team news is in, and the gaffer has understandably gone as strong as possible. Ashley Young does miss out after picking up an injury, as does Wayne Rooney, Juan Mata, Chris Smalling and Phil Jones.
There is a rare start for Luke Shaw at left-back who’ll be absolutely desperate to prove his worth to this Manchester United side. Paul Pogba also gets his first shot in the starting XI since that hamstring injury.
Perhaps the biggest news to me is that there is no David de Gea for one reason or another, and Marouane Fellaini has also been named as skipper for this clash which is interesting.
Romero, Darmian, Bailly, Rojo, Shaw, Fellaini, Herrera, Pogba, Mkhitaryan, Ibrahimović, Lingard.
Subs: Pereira, Carrick, Blind, Fosu-Mensah, Tuanzebe, Martial, Rashford.
